The road in front of the Brothers In Arms Memorial Park (= between parking A and parking B will be closed to all traffic! The route along Polygon Wood (= Lange Dreve and Lotegatstraat) will be one way traffic all the way up to the Black Watch Corner Monument. 

To get to parking A please follow the Lotegatstraat (either from Zonnebeke or from the motorway A19), coming from the north. 

To get to parking B please drive to Lange Dreve, coming from the east, as there is one way traffic imposed!

The John Hunter Story Walk

Want to find out how the whole project started? Join our fabulous guides on a walk visiting the key sites of the John Hunter Story. See where the Zonnebeke Five were found, learn about how John got killed on the spot itself and visit the graves of the Zonnebeke Five at Buttes New British Cemetery.

You can join our guides on the walk, departing from the Brothers In Arms Memorial Park, on regular times throughout the afternoon. No registration needed!

Talks on the Brothers In Arms Memorial Park

Project leader Johan Vandewalle will talk about how the Brothers In Arms Memorial Project started and how it evolved into the sublime memorial park we have today.

Free to attend at 3 pm and 5 pm.

Architect Andy Malengier will talk about the symbolism in the Brothers In Arms Memorial Park and explain about the importance of the material.

Free to attend at 4 pm. 

Throughout the afternoon (starting from 1.30 pm), you can join guided walks of the "John Hunter Story (from finding place to burial site)", listen to Johan Vandewalle talk about the memorial project, enjoy live music and so much more...

Evening ceremony at the memorial park

At noon you can treat yourself to one of our delicious burgers or bratwurste.
